Which is the official Uffizi website, and when is a reseller worth it?
The Uffizi's own website is uffizi.it and its ticket shop is tickets.uffizi.it. Buy there if your dates are fixed; pay a reseller more only for free cancellation, a guide or a slot the museum has sold out.
The official Uffizi website is uffizi.it, and its ticket shop is tickets.uffizi.it, run by the museum’s ticketing concessionaire, CoopCulture. If your dates are fixed, buy there: a timed ticket costs €29 booked ahead, the lowest advance price you will find. A reseller such as GetYourGuide is worth the extra only when you need free cancellation, a guide, or a slot the official site has already sold; we explain what GetYourGuide’s Uffizi tickets really include separately. Every other website with “Uffizi” in its address is a third party, and that includes this one: uffiziskiptheline.com is an independent travel guide with no affiliation to the museum or to CoopCulture, and we earn a commission on some bookings made through our links, at no extra cost to you.

Why it matters where you buy
Stand under Vasari’s long loggia at 8.15 a.m. and you will see a dozen phones open on a dozen different “Uffizi” websites. Only one of them belongs to the museum.
That used to cost you a few euros at most. Since 13 October 2025 every Uffizi ticket carries the visitor’s name, and staff check it against your passport or ID. If the name does not match, you do not get in and you do not get a refund. A ticket from a careless seller can now cost you the visit as well as the markup.
What is the official Uffizi website?
uffizi.it is the website of the Uffizi Galleries, which cover the Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens. Its “Buy online” buttons send you to the official ticketing service at tickets.uffizi.it. Checkout happens on a coopculture.it page, because CoopCulture is the ticketing concessionaire, and your confirmation email comes from a CoopCulture address. That is normal.
| What | Official address | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Uffizi information | uffizi.it | Hours, notices, collection, exhibitions |
| Uffizi tickets | tickets.uffizi.it (checkout on coopculture.it) | The official ticket shop since October 2025 |
| Uffizi call center | +39 055 0354135 (from abroad or a mobile), 800 615 615 (free in Italy) | Daily, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. |
| Accademia (Michelangelo’s David) information | galleriaaccademiafirenze.it | A different museum, with a different system |
| Accademia tickets | B-Ticket, through the Accademia’s website | The channel the Accademia names as its authorized seller |
| Independent cross-check | cultura.gov.it (Italian Ministry of Culture) | Lists the official website and phone numbers |
A common mix-up: B-Ticket used to sell Uffizi tickets, until CoopCulture took over in October 2025. It still sells Accademia tickets. Old guides that send you to B-Ticket for the Uffizi are out of date. Booking both museums on one day is covered in our Uffizi and Accademia in one day guide.
How much do official Uffizi tickets cost?
| Ticket | Official price |
|---|---|
| Standard, bought on the day at the ticket office | €25 |
| Standard, booked in advance | €29 |
| Afternoon ticket (entry from 4 p.m.) | €16 on the day, €20 booked ahead |
| EU citizens aged 18 to 25 | €2 |
| Under-18s | Free |
Why the advance ticket costs more: you may have read that the old Uffizi booking fee was abolished. The official price list still has a €4 gap between same-day and advance tickets, now described as an advance-purchase surcharge. It is genuine and official, and it does not mean you are on the wrong site.
Prices were checked on uffizi.it on 31 October 2026. Every discount, free day and pass is on our guide to Uffizi ticket types and free entry.
Resellers explained: authorized platforms vs lookalike sites
Third-party sellers fall into three groups, and they are not the same.
1. Authorized resellers
These are tour operators and platforms accredited with CoopCulture. Its operator contract for Uffizi tickets (revision of 10 October 2025) says they must:
- describe themselves to customers only as an “authorized reseller”
- add no markup to the ticket’s face price
- show the ticket and any extras at clearly separate prices, and tell you that you can buy the ticket alone
- not promote “skip the line” offers or other claims that blur who is selling what
- not use bots or create artificial scarcity
- make clear that their audio guides are not the official ones
An authorized reseller can still charge more in total, for genuine extras: a guide, an audio app, a service fee or free cancellation.
2. Large booking platforms
Platforms such as GetYourGuide usually bundle the official ticket with extras, and many offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before, which official tickets do not. On this site the Uffizi Gallery Reserved Entry Ticket & Audioguide ($49, 4.4 from 2,168 reviews) is the refundable option. The Uffizi Gallery ALL Collections Ticket & Audio App ($31, 4.2 from 7,362 reviews) and the Uffizi Gallery Timed Entry Ticket + App Audioguide ($38, 4.5 from 1,402 reviews) cost less but are not refundable, so against the €29 official ticket you pay mainly for an app.
3. Lookalike “Uffizi tickets” websites
These are sites with “Uffizi” in the domain that are not the museum. Many are independent resellers or information sites, and some charge considerably more for a plain ticket. In a January 2026 forum report, one lookalike site charged about half as much again as the official advance price for the same ticket. A domain name tells you nothing about who you are buying from.
There is no public official list of authorized resellers. No website, ours included, can prove it is “authorized” by pointing to a register, which is why the checks below matter.
How to check if a Uffizi ticket site is official (30-second test)
- Look at the address bar, not the logo. For the Uffizi, only uffizi.it and tickets.uffizi.it (with checkout on coopculture.it) are official. For the Accademia, it is galleriaaccademiafirenze.it, with checkout on B-Ticket.
- “Uffizi” in a domain proves nothing. That includes uffiziskiptheline.com.
- Compare the price. A plain timed ticket costing more than €29 means you are paying a third party.
- Look for “not the official site” in the small print. Honest independent sites say so; ours says it in the footer of every page.
- A padlock (HTTPS) is not proof. Lookalike sites have them too.
- “Sponsored” in a search result means someone paid for the placement; it says nothing about whether the site is official.
- Be wary of “skip the line”, “priority access” or “fast track” promises. The official reseller contracts at both the Uffizi and the Accademia ban this language, so treat it as a reason for caution that does not prove fraud.
- Make sure every visitor’s name is collected. If a seller does not ask, your ticket may fail the ID check.
- Check for outdated information. A site that still sends you to B-Ticket for the Uffizi, or talks about collecting tickets at “Door 3”, has not kept up.
- If in doubt, cross-check on cultura.gov.it, the Ministry of Culture’s listing.
Official site vs authorized platform vs lookalike: comparison
| tickets.uffizi.it (official) | Large authorized platform (e.g. GetYourGuide) | Lookalike “Uffizi” domain | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ticket price | €29 ahead, €25 on the day | Official ticket inside a bundle, $31 to $49 on this site | Often noticeably higher for a plain ticket |
| Cancellation | Non-refundable | Often free up to 24 hours before | Varies; often “all sales final” |
| Name changes | Not offered; name must match ID | Depends on the operator | Unclear |
| Support | Call center, daily 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; email | App support in many languages | Varies |
| When sold out | The on-site ticket office still sells | May have operator allocations | May have nothing genuine to sell |
| Discounts (EU 18 to 25, under-18s) | Yes, checked at the door | Not always | Rarely |
| Vasari Corridor, PassePartout | Yes | Limited; see our Vasari Corridor tours | Rarely |
| Who your contract is with | CoopCulture (the concessionaire) | The platform or its supplier | A private company, often abroad |
When is a reseller the better choice?
- Your dates might change, and free cancellation is worth more to you than the extra cost.
- You want a licensed guide, or a bundle such as the Uffizi plus the Accademia.
- The official site is sold out or not working for you, and you would rather not queue on the day.
- You need support in your own language or a payment method the official site does not take.
In every other case, buy direct: it costs least, and it is the museum’s own system. If you need free cancellation, the $49 reserved entry ticket is the one to compare against the official €29; for a guide, our Uffizi guided tours page compares them all.
Where is the Uffizi ticket office?
Under the loggia on Piazzale degli Uffizi, the long courtyard between Piazza della Signoria and the river. Other official ticket offices are in the square in front of Palazzo Pitti and at the Boboli Gardens entrances (Annalena on Via Romana, Porta Romana and Forte Belvedere).
| Detail | |
|---|---|
| Ticket office hours | Tuesday to Sunday, 8.15 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. (last admission 5.30 p.m.) |
| Closed | Mondays, 1 January, 25 December |
| Info desk | Left side of Piazzale degli Uffizi, toward Piazza della Signoria |
| Sold out online? | CoopCulture says the on-site ticket office still sells as normal, though you may queue |
| Firenze Card holders | You still need a free Uffizi reservation, online (choose “Uffizi reservation for Firenze Card owners”), by phone or at a ticket office |
| Your ticket | Online and phone bookings arrive as a QR code to show on your phone |
Entrances: door arrangements changed after the new ticketing system arrived in October 2025, so follow the signs and staff on the day. Full hours and the free days are on our Uffizi opening hours guide.
What if the official site isn’t working?
It happens. In 2026 several visitors reported a blank page on tickets.uffizi.it, and that is when people end up on lookalike sites. Before you give up, readers have reported these workarounds (anecdotal, not official):
- Switch the site language to English and reload.
- Try a different browser or device, or your phone on mobile data instead of wifi.
- Email CoopCulture. One visitor was sent an account-activation link and a temporary password.
- Call the official call center (+39 055 0354135, daily 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.). One visitor was told they needed an active CoopCulture account first.
- Buy on the day at the ticket office, or use the cheaper afternoon ticket from 4 p.m.
Have big booking platforms been fined in Italy?
Yes, over Colosseum tickets. In April 2025 Italy’s competition authority, the AGCM, announced fines of almost €20 million in a case about Colosseum tickets: bots bulk-buying base-price tickets on the official site and creating artificial scarcity. CoopCulture, which ran Colosseum ticketing until 2024, was fined €7 million, and six platforms and tour operators were fined too, GetYourGuide among them. GetYourGuide denied using bots and said it would appeal to the regional administrative court.
We found no comparable decision about Uffizi tickets. The case explains why today’s reseller contracts ban bots and artificial scarcity.
Ticket touts in Florence: in April 2024 the Guardia di Finanza seized tickets from touts near the city’s museums, who were selling Accademia and Uffizi tickets at more than half again their face value. Don’t buy tickets from people in the piazza.
What can you do if you bought from a lookalike site?
- Check what you received. Is it a named, timed Uffizi ticket with a QR code, or a voucher you need to exchange?
- Check the names. If they do not match your passports exactly, contact the seller immediately.
- Contact the seller in writing and keep copies of everything: the listing, the price shown, the confirmation and any refusal at the door.
- If no valid ticket arrives, or you are refused entry, ask your card issuer about a chargeback for services not provided or not as described. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
- Report misleading sellers to Italy’s competition authority, the AGCM, through its online reporting form. For cross-border disputes with a seller elsewhere in the EU, contact ECC-Net Italia.
- Keep a back-up: the on-site ticket office, or the 4 p.m. afternoon ticket.
Know your rights: timed tickets for leisure activities on a specific date are excluded from the EU’s 14-day cooling-off period, even when you buy through an intermediary, as the EU Court of Justice confirmed in 2022. Unless the seller’s own terms offer cancellation, you cannot simply change your mind.
