Florence: Early Morning Uffizi Gallery Guided Tour

About This Experience
This is a 2-hour guided tour of the Uffizi that starts early in the morning and runs as a semi-private group, with the fast-entrance ticket and a certified guide included. You meet the guide near the gallery, pass security together and spend two hours on the collection: Botticelli's Birth of Venus, Leonardo, Michelangelo and the stories behind them, with time to look rather than only to listen. Headphones are handed out when the group is larger than 7; several reviewers say they were the only people booked that morning. A private option is sold on the same listing.
The early start matters because the gallery opens at 8.15 a.m. and guides consistently describe the first slots as calmer than the stretch from about 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. One reviewer describes gliding through the museum without noticing the crowds. The fast-entrance ticket skips the ticket queue; the operator is clear that metal-detector security can produce a line even with fast-track entry, and when the gallery is full staff hold reserved visitors too. Backpacks must be left at the free cloakroom inside the entrance, and the operator asks you not to carry bottles or liquids. The visit begins with 126 steps up the Grand Ducal staircase; lifts are available, and the listing marks the tour as wheelchair accessible.
It suits travelers who want the museum at its quietest, two full hours with a guide and a group small enough to ask questions, at a noticeably higher price than the 9-person tours here. The caution is the review base: 29 reviews with a display rating of 5.0, encouraging but thin next to the hundreds behind the Florence Uffizi Gallery Priority Entrance and Tour, the other morning tour here, capped at 9. If the price feels high, that tour is the natural alternative; for a guide to yourself, compare this listing's private option with the Florence Uffizi Gallery Private Tour.
The meeting point depends on the option booked and is shown on your voucher. Give every traveler's full name at booking and bring matching ID, because Uffizi tickets are nominal. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start.

What Travelers Say
Rated 5.0/5 by 29 verified GetYourGuide travelers.
Francesca was an outstanding tour guide! We met her at the meeting point, she was very easy to find, and much to our surprise me and my husband were the only people signed up for the tour that morning so we had a private tour. Francesca was so knowledgeable and took us to the main points of interest. She navigated the gallery in a way that allowed us to get right up front with the works of art all while respectfully interacting with the other guides with larger groups and allowing us to move around them to get better views. She knew the best routes to take. She was the most interesting and fun guide I’ve ever had on a tour. Thank you so much Francesca!

Our guide was a few minutes late but she was very knowledgeable about the museum. We saw many of the most famous paintings and many others. Since it is such a large museum, it is nice to have someone help prioritize your stay to make the most of your time.

Excellent tour. We had Francesca and she was exceptional. The way she conducted the tour was excellent: the stories were interesting and engaging, we sort of glided through the museum never noticing the crowds. We learned quite a lot too! Three hours passed and we could continue listening to her. I wish we could have Francesca for other tours in Florence.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the early-morning Uffizi tour cost?
The semi-private tour in English costs $140 per person, checked in October 2026 for the next available date. That covers the fast-entrance ticket and two hours with a certified guide. A fully private version is sold on the same listing at a higher price per person.
Does fast-track entry mean no line at all?
No. It skips the ticket queue. Everyone still passes the metal detector, and the operator itself says that can produce a line even with fast-track entry. When the gallery is full, staff hold new arrivals until others leave; early in the morning that is far less likely than at midday.
What if I am late, and can I cancel?
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start. No late-arrival allowance is published, and the group enters together on an early reserved slot, so a late arrival may miss the entry. Check the voucher for the exact meeting point and be there a few minutes early.
How long is the tour and what does it cover?
Two hours with the guide, half an hour longer than the 1.5-hour tours on this site, covering Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo and the main second-floor rooms with time to look. Afterwards you can stay inside on your own until the 6.30 p.m. closing.
Is it worth paying more for this over a cheaper small-group tour?
You are paying for the early slot, the extra half hour and a group that is often just a few people. If those matter to you, yes. If you mainly want a small group, the 9-person morning tour on this site costs less and has a far longer review history; this one has 29 reviews so far.
