Florence: Uffizi Gallery Priority Entrance and Tour

About This Experience

This is a morning guided tour of the Uffizi in a group capped at 9 people, with the entry ticket and a certified, official guide included. You meet the guide at the gallery, beside Piazza della Signoria, enter on a reserved slot early in the day and spend about 1.5 hours on the main collection: Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Caravaggio, plus the ancient Roman statues, tombs and busts that line the second-floor corridors. The tour runs in one language only, so nothing is repeated. When the guide finishes you stay inside for as long as you want.

The morning start is the point of this tour. The gallery opens at 8.15 a.m., and guides consistently describe the first slots as calmer than the stretch from about 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., when tour groups fill the Botticelli rooms. One reviewer describes staying on after the tour with fewer people around. The reserved ticket skips the ticket queue, but everyone still passes the metal detector, and when the gallery is full staff hold reserved visitors too. Luggage and large bags are not allowed; use the free cloakroom inside the entrance. The visit begins with 126 steps up the Grand Ducal staircase, four flights before the first room; lifts are available.

It suits travelers who can be at the museum early and want the main rooms explained in a small group before the day gets busy. It costs more than the other 9-person tour on this site, the Uffizi Gallery Priority Entry Small-Group Tour, which runs at other times of day; with 267 reviews at 4.8 it has a higher rating from a smaller base. If an early start does not appeal, the Florence Uffizi Gallery Small Group Guided Tour (15 people, headsets) is the better-reviewed middle option. For a longer early visit, see the Florence Early Morning Uffizi Gallery Guided Tour.

The meeting point depends on the option booked and is shown on your voucher. Bring a valid ID for every traveler: Uffizi tickets are nominal, and a name that does not match the ID means no entry. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.8/5 by 267 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

We were late to our tour which was unfortunate but they were still able to take us and we are so thankful for that! We had issues finding our guide as well but everyone we spoke to was very helpful in finding her. The rest of the people in our tour were very gracious as well despite us being late. The Uffizi is just SO LARGE, we really didn’t expect that. You could spend dayssss in there and still not see it all. So our guide did a selection of some pieces to show us and discuss which was great. We got a great idea of some of the history and how the art changed with the times and influences. At the end, we were able to stay as long as we wanted and peruse the museum at our leisure which was lovely, especially since it was early in the morning so plenty of time to stay with less crowds.

We like that everything ran on time and it was smooth. We loved the individual narration of each site. Our guide Ivano was full of very interesting stories about each of the artists and their artwork. It was much better than a digital audio guide that is self guided.

This guide was so passionate and knowledgeable about the art and the progressions through time. Thank you

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the morning Uffizi tour cost?

The morning tour in English costs $95 per person, checked in October 2026 for the next available date. That covers the museum's entry ticket and the certified guide for a group of 9 at most. Under-18s enter the museum free, so check the listing's child rate.

Is the museum really quieter in the morning?

The gallery opens at 8.15 a.m., and guides consistently describe the opening slots as calmer than the stretch from about 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., when tour groups are inside. No official hourly figures exist, so treat it as a strong tendency, not a promise of empty rooms.

Does priority entrance mean we skip the line?

It skips the ticket queue. Everyone still passes the metal detector, which is the one line nobody avoids, and when the gallery is full staff hold new arrivals until others leave. Early in the day that is less of an issue than at midday.

What if I am late, and can I cancel?

Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start. No late-arrival allowance is published; one reviewer who arrived late was still taken in, but do not count on it, since the group enters together on a reserved slot. Check the voucher for the exact meeting point.

How long is the tour and can we stay afterwards?

The guided part lasts about 1.5 hours and covers the Medici collection highlights plus the Roman sculptures in the corridors. Afterwards you stay inside on your own for as long as you like, until the 6.30 p.m. closing, which with a morning start leaves most of the day.
