Uffizi Gallery Priority Entry Small-Group Tour

4.5 (311 verified reviews)

About This Experience

This is a 1.5-hour guided tour of the Uffizi in a group capped at 9 people, with the timed entry ticket, a licensed art guide and a headset included. You meet the guide, who carries a red flag, at the Leonardo da Vinci statue in the Uffizi courtyard, pass security together and climb to the second floor. The route is chronological: Giotto's Ognissanti Madonna first, then Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Primavera, Leonardo, Michelangelo's Doni Tondo and Raphael, with Caravaggio's Medusa on the first floor. Several reviewers say their guide stayed past the scheduled 1.5 hours, and groups of two to four are common in the reviews.

The pre-reserved ticket is the museum's €29 advance ticket and it takes you past the ticket queue. Security is separate: the operator itself warns that everyone passes the metal detector and that the wait can reach 15 to 20 minutes at peak hours, and when the gallery is full staff hold reserved visitors until others leave. Luggage and large bags are not allowed, so bring a small bag or use the free cloakroom inside the entrance. The visit starts with 126 steps up the Grand Ducal staircase; lifts are available. The gallery closes at 6.30 p.m. and you can stay until then.

It suits a first visit where a small group matters and you want to spend less than the 15-person tours on this site charge. The trade-off is a shorter track record: 311 reviews at 4.5, against more than a thousand for the Florence Uffizi Gallery Small Group Guided Tour. If a long review history reassures you, that tour is the safer pick; for a morning start with the same cap of 9, see the Florence Uffizi Gallery Priority Entrance and Tour. For a visit without a guide, the Uffizi Gallery Reserved Entry Ticket and Audioguide costs less again.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.5/5 by 311 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

We were lucky. Monica is an excellent guide who was able to capture and hold the attention of even my 13-year-old son. Very engaging, she describes the works with uncommon passion. Thanks again for the wonderful experience.

Guided tour with guide Mona. A fantastic experience with a great deal of empathy in explaining the works. A chronological tour of the artworks with a wealth of details! We were extremely satisfied, and a huge thank you to Mona for her expertise and warmth!!!!!!

The Uffizi Gallery is without a doubt one of the best museums in the world and a must-see in Florence. But after this experience, it's even clearer to me that touring it with a good tour guide makes all the difference. Understanding the Renaissance chronologically, the context of the works, the mythology, and the evolution of the artists gives the visit a totally different meaning. Our tour guide was Sara Ramírez, and we couldn't have been more fortunate. My partner and I were the only participants, so we practically enjoyed a private tour. Although the sightseeing tour was scheduled for 1.5 hours, Sara was with us for 2.5 hours, taking her time and answering all our questions with patience and enthusiasm. You can tell that she has a huge amount of knowledge about art, history, and mythology, but, above all, that she enjoys sharing it. She was by far the best tour guide we've had on all our trips. If you are lucky enough to

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the Uffizi priority entry small-group tour cost?

The small-group tour with priority entry costs $60 per person, checked in October 2026 for the next available date. That covers the museum's timed entry ticket, the licensed guide and a headset, so there is nothing to pay at the door. Check the listing for the child rate, since under-18s enter the museum itself free.

Does priority entry mean no line?

No. It skips the ticket queue, which is the long one. Everyone still goes through the metal detector, and the operator itself says that wait can be 15 to 20 minutes at peak hours. When the gallery is at capacity, staff hold new arrivals until others leave, reserved groups included.

Can I cancel, and what if I am late to the statue?

Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start. No late-arrival allowance is published, and the group goes through security together on a timed slot, so a late arrival may mean missing the entry. Be at the Leonardo statue a few minutes early and look for the red flag.

How long is the tour and what will I see?

The guided part is scheduled for 1.5 hours and runs in chronological order from Giotto to Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Caravaggio. Several reviewers report guides staying longer with small groups. Afterwards you can stay inside on your own until the 6.30 p.m. closing.

Why is this cheaper than the other small-group tours, and is it as good?

The product is similar: a cap of 9, a licensed guide, headsets and the ticket. What you give up is track record, with 311 reviews at 4.5 against more than a thousand for the better-known small-group tours here. The guide ratings in those reviews are high, and most mention a very small group.
