How a Private Uffizi Tour Works
From the price you see to the moment the guide leaves you in the gallery.
Price it for your party
Private tours are quoted per person for the party size you enter. The figures on this page are for two adults; enter your own number of adults and children before comparing. Reserved museum tickets are included and issued in each visitor's name.
Meet at the Neptune fountain
Your guide meets you at the Fontana del Nettuno in Piazza della Signoria, a minute from the Uffizi courtyard, and starts outside: a quarter of an hour on the square and the Loggia dei Lanzi before you go in.
Security applies to everyone
A private booking takes you out of the ticket queue, not past the metal detector. When the gallery is full, staff hold new arrivals until others leave, private party or not. Bring the passport or ID card whose name is on the booking.
Your route, your pace
About two and three-quarter hours inside, with the guide choosing the route around what your party wants to see and how fast it moves. The 126-step staircase can be swapped for the lift. When the guide leaves you may stay until closing.

Before You Book
Is a Private Uffizi Tour Worth Three Times the Small-Group Price?
How private tours are priced, what the museum's group rules mean for your party, and the conditions under which the private guide earns it.
How private Uffizi tours are priced
Private tours on GetYourGuide are quoted per person for the party you enter, so the number you see depends on who you are bringing. Every private price below is the adult rate quoted for two adults, checked in October 2026 for the next available date; re-run it with your own party size before comparing. The museum’s share of that price is small: the Uffizi’s own advance ticket is €29 per person, so with a private tour almost all of what you pay is the guide’s time.
The featured Uffizi Gallery Private Tour from Florence Tours by Made of Tuscany costs $284 per person for two adults. For that you get three hours: your guide meets you at the Fontana del Nettuno in Piazza della Signoria, spends a quarter of an hour on the square and the Loggia dei Lanzi, then takes you inside for about two and three-quarter hours. Reserved tickets and the guide are included; the tour is offered in seven languages; cancellation is free up to 24 hours before. It scores 4.9 from 75 reviews, a strong figure from a small number; reviewers single out guides who pointed out details they would not have noticed alone. Our breakdown →
For scale, the small-group tour on this site with a cap of 15 costs $84, so for a couple the private version costs more than three times as much per head.
What the museum’s rules mean for a private party
Private does not mean exempt. The Uffizi caps every group at 16 people including the guide, so a private party can be at most 15 guests. Any group of more than six must use whisper headsets, private or not. Groups of 11 or more, guide included, pay the museum an extra €70; if your party is that large, ask the operator whether it is in the price. And security is security: a private booking takes you out of the ticket queue, everyone passes the metal detector, and when the gallery is full even a private party waits at the door until others leave.
One more rule matters if you are tempted by a private tour that adds the Vasari Corridor. The corridor is walked in museum-run groups of 25 with two members of staff who do not give a tour, and guides are not permitted to lecture inside it. Your guide’s commentary happens in the gallery beforehand; the corridor itself, about 45 minutes and one way to the Boboli Gardens, is the same walk for everyone.
The other private tours on this site
The Uffizi Gallery Discovery Private Guided Tour from ACCORD is $197 per person for two adults, also three hours, and scores 4.5 from 658 reviews, the most of any private listing here. You meet staff in yellow ACCORD vests at the corner of the ticket office and Via Lambertesca, by the Cellini statue, and they hand over the tickets before the guide takes you in. Hotel pickup is included if your hotel is close. The trade is cancellation: this one is non-refundable, and on free first Sundays the operator cannot guarantee priority entry and lowers the price. Our breakdown →
The Vasari Corridor and Uffizi Gallery Exclusive Tour, from the same operator as the featured tour, is $309 per person for two adults: two hours in the gallery with your guide, then the 45-minute corridor walk, finishing at the Buontalenti Grotto across the river. It scores 4.7 from 41 reviews. The listing shows free cancellation up to 24 hours, but its own text asks you to book only if you are certain to attend because the corridor tickets are issued in your name and are non-refundable; take the stricter reading. Our breakdown →
The Skip-the-Line Uffizi Museum Tour for Kids & Families is a private two-and-a-half-hour tour built around games and scorecards, $266 per adult for two adults, 4.9 from 35 reviews. It has its own page at Uffizi tours for kids.
Two group listings also sell a private option: the Renaissance Masterpieces Guided Tour at $212 and the Early Morning Uffizi Gallery Guided Tour at $157.
When a private guide earns its price
For most first-time visitors, a small group of 15 with headsets is enough. The private tour makes sense under a few conditions.
Your party does not move at one speed. Someone wants twenty minutes in front of the Botticellis and someone else wants out in ninety; a private guide adjusts, a group of 15 does not.
Someone would struggle with the stairs. The ordinary route starts with 126 steps up the Grand Ducal Staircase, about four flights, and the featured small-group tour on this site lists itself as unsuitable for people with mobility impairments for that reason. Lifts exist on the ground floor, and a private guide can plan the visit around them.
You want the first floor. Most small-group routes spend their ninety minutes on the second floor and leave Titian’s Venus of Urbino and the Caravaggio rooms (Medusa, Bacchus, the Sacrifice of Isaac) for you to find afterwards. Three hours with a guide reaches them.
You have a specific interest and want a conversation, not a script.
If none of those apply and your real worry is the queue, a reserved ticket at a fraction of the price handles the entry, and the small-group tours handle the explanation.
On the day
Be at the meeting point 15 minutes early with the ID whose name is on the booking. Backpacks, large bags and large umbrellas go to the free cloakroom under the eastern colonnade; water up to half a liter is allowed.
If the conditions above describe your party, check availability for your date and party size; our guide on whether a guided tour is worth it and the room-by-room list of what to see in the Uffizi will help you brief the guide.

What Private Tour Guests Say
Ratings and review counts are the tour operators' live figures on GetYourGuide and may shift slightly day to day.
"The tour hit all the highlights of the museum. The guide's explanation and interpretation of the painting was extremely informative. He pointed out different subtilties in the paintings, things we would have never noticed. He also let us know the best angle to take some of the photos, helping us get up close through the crowds. Exceptional."
"Extremely knowledgeable guide that could explain so much detail of the art and the building! Her English was excellent and she made the tour very interesting."
"We loved our tour with Giacomo! He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!"
"We are very happy with our guide Mateo - he kept a comfortable pace of our tour, was knowledgeable and attentive. The only glitch we had is finding each other at our meeting point. The person with the "Get Your Guide" sign had no record of our tour. Later we realized that this tour was outsourced to another company. But once we found each other it was all good from there on."
"The enormity of the Uffizi, like so many other world class museums, can be daunting. We opted for a private tour, counting on the expertise of a guide to ensure that we experienced the highlights and were not overwhelmed by the sheer number of works on display. We were not disappointed! Eleanora was outstanding. She did so much more than effortlessly guide us to the most famous and inspiring works: she weaved a narrative about the era, the artists, and the works themselves. Hidden images, secret messages and illuminating connections between the subject(s) and artists. Rather than standing in silence, snapping a photo and moving on, we learned about each work in its historic context. Eleanora shared details that made everything come alive. The extra expense of a private Uffizi tour was worth every penny! We highly recommend our knowledgeable and engaging guide. Thank you Eleanora for making our tour of the Uffizi memorable for all the right reasons!"
"The guide was exceptional and she was patient enough to help us understand all the details!!"
"My daughter and I had a three hour guided tour of the Ufizzi with Eleanora in April 2023. I had had a tour with Eleanora six months prior so I was delighted to see that she would again act as guide. She shared her immense knowledge of art in a way that was interesting and compelling. She is the best."

Frequently Asked Questions About Private Uffizi Tours
What people ask before booking a licensed guide for their own party at the Uffizi.
Per person, for the party size you enter when booking. The figures on this site are the adult rate quoted for two adults in October 2026, from $197 to $309 per person depending on the tour. The museum's own advance ticket is €29 of that, so nearly all of the price is the guide's time. Enter your own party before comparing, since the per-person figure changes with the number of people.
For most first-time visitors a small group of 15 with headsets is enough. A private guide earns the difference when your party moves at different speeds, when someone needs the lift instead of 126 steps, when you want the first-floor Caravaggio and Titian rooms covered, or when you have a specific interest. Our guide on whether a Uffizi tour is worth it goes deeper.
It skips the ticket-buying line. It does not skip security: every visitor passes a metal detector, and when the gallery is full, staff hold new arrivals at the door until others leave, private party or not. Visitors report 5 to 15 minutes at the check with a reservation and more at mid-morning peaks. See what to expect at the Uffizi.
The museum caps every group at 16 people including the guide, so a private party is at most 15 guests. Groups of more than six must use whisper headsets even on a private tour, and the museum charges €70 extra for groups of 11 or more including the guide. If your party is large, confirm with the operator that headsets and the group fee are covered.
The two full private tours on this site last three hours, with about two and three-quarter hours inside the gallery on the featured tour. The family tour runs two and a half hours. When the guide leaves you, your ticket is still valid until the 6.30 p.m. exit call, so you can go back to a room or up to the terrace café at your own pace.
Yes, with the Vasari Corridor and Uffizi Gallery Exclusive Tour: two guided hours in the gallery, then the 45-minute corridor walk, one way, ending near the Buontalenti Grotto in the Boboli Gardens. Inside the corridor you walk in a museum-run group of 25 and guides may not lecture, so the commentary happens beforehand. Compare the options at Vasari Corridor tours.
The featured private tour and the Vasari Corridor tour show free cancellation up to 24 hours before, though the corridor listing also asks you to book only if certain, because the named corridor tickets are non-refundable. The Discovery private tour is non-refundable from the moment you book. In every case the museum tickets are nominal and cannot be passed to someone else.
Yes. Under-18s enter the museum free with a passport or ID card, and children under 12 must be with an adult; the operator's tour fee for a child is shown when you add them at booking. For young children a tour designed around them usually works better than an adult itinerary at a slower pace; see Uffizi tours for kids.
The featured tour meets at the Fontana del Nettuno in Piazza della Signoria, a minute from the Uffizi courtyard, and begins with a short walk around the square and the Loggia dei Lanzi. The Discovery tour meets its staff, in yellow ACCORD vests, at the corner of the ticket office and Via Lambertesca by the Cellini statue. Arrive 15 minutes early either way.
The passport or ID card whose name is on the booking, for every member of the party including children; comfortable shoes; a water bottle of up to half a liter. Backpacks, large bags and large umbrellas go to the free cloakroom under the eastern colonnade. No flash, tripods or selfie sticks, and no dress code beyond nothing beachwear-like. Headphones are only needed if you are more than six.
