How a Reserved Ticket Works

From booking to the first room, in four steps.

  1. Book with every visitor's name

Choose a date and entry time and enter each visitor's full name exactly as it appears on their passport or ID card. Uffizi tickets have been nominal since October 2025, and a name that does not match the document means no entry and no refund.

  2. Meet the host, not the museum

Go to the corner of Piazza della Signoria and Via dei Gondi 15 minutes before your slot. Staff in purple Crown Tours shirts hand over the ticket and check the audio guide has downloaded and plays on your phone.

  3. Reserved line, then security

Reserved-ticket holders use their own signposted line under the east loggia, which is the queue you skip. Everyone then passes a metal detector, coats and bags on the belt, and when the building is full new arrivals wait until others leave.

  4. Climb, then take your time

The visit starts with 126 steps up the Grand Ducal Staircase to the second floor, about four flights; there are lifts for visitors who need them. The ticket has no time limit, so you can follow the short second-floor route or stay for everything.

Which Reserved Uffizi Ticket?

Three timed tickets without a guide; the museum's own advance ticket is €29 for comparison.

Other Ways to See the Uffizi

Cheaper non-refundable tickets, a small guided group, and passes that add the Accademia or Palazzo Pitti.

Before You Book

Which Uffizi Ticket Should You Book, and What Does It Skip?

Three reseller tickets, the museum's own €25 and €29 prices, and the rules that apply to all of them.

What a reservation does, and what it does not

The Uffizi sells its standard ticket for €25 if you buy it on the day and €29 if you buy it before, and the €4 is a booking surcharge, not a discount for planning ahead. What it buys is a date and an entry time. From April to September the walk-up line for a same-day ticket runs to two or three hours by most accounts, and the museum itself warns that on busy days same-day tickets can run out.

A reservation takes you out of that ticket-buying queue. It does not take you past security. Every visitor goes through a metal detector, and when the building is full, staff hold new arrivals at the door until others leave, timed ticket or not. Visitors report the security line at 5 to 15 minutes with a reservation, and 20 to 30 minutes at mid-morning peaks.

Two rules apply to every ticket, reseller or official. Since 13 October 2025 Uffizi tickets are nominal: full names go in at booking, staff check them against ID at the door, and a mismatch means no entry and no refund. And the first Sunday of each month is free for everyone, with no reservations and no priority line of any kind. The remaining dates in 2026 are 4 October, 1 November and 6 December; a reserved ticket for one of those days has nothing to reserve.

The reserved ticket with an audio guide

For a first visit without a guide, the Uffizi Gallery Reserved Entry Ticket & Audioguide from Crown Tours is the one I would book. It costs $49 per person, checked in October 2026 for the next available date, against the museum’s €29 for the same advance reservation. For the difference you get three things the official ticket does not include: a host who meets you at the corner of Piazza della Signoria and Via dei Gondi, hands over the ticket and checks the audio guide is working on your phone; a downloadable audio guide in seven languages; and free cancellation up to 24 hours before. The entry slot itself is fixed once booked (the operator says changes cannot be accommodated), but if the whole plan falls through you get your money back, which neither of the cheaper tickets below offers.

The audio guide runs on your own phone, so bring headphones and a charged battery; the operator asks for about 300 MB of free space. There is no time limit inside, so all three of the museum’s published routes are open to you: the second floor alone in about an hour and a half to two hours, the Classic route in more than two hours, or more than three hours for everything. The ticket scores 4.4 from 2,014 reviews. Recent reviewers describe the entry as straightforward and the app as easy to use offline; one found the commentary thinner than he hoped. Our breakdown →

Two cheaper timed tickets

The Uffizi ALL Collections Ticket & Audio App from ACCORD is $31, the lowest-priced Uffizi ticket on this site, and with 7,287 reviews (4.3) it is also the most reviewed one we list. You meet a staff member under the Cellini statue along the Loggia, collect the ticket and go straight to security. The audio app comes in 18 languages, and the price includes a selection of Tuscan food tastings. The ticket is non-refundable. One recent reviewer was let in about 15 minutes before the booked slot; another thought too many tour groups were inside at once. Our breakdown →

The Uffizi Timed Entry Ticket + App Audioguide sold by GetYourGuide itself is $38, scores 4.5 from 1,322 reviews, and is the simplest of the three: no meeting point and no host, just a timed ticket and an app, with an option to add Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens for the following five days. The slot is binding and the ticket is non-refundable. Two recent reviewers had trouble getting the app to work, so download it before you leave the hotel. Our breakdown →

The choice between the three comes down to cancellation. If your Florence dates are fixed and you are sure of the morning, the $31 ticket does the same job at the door. If there is any chance you will move the day, the $49 ticket is the one that lets you.

When the museum’s own ticket is the better buy

Between November and mid-March on a weekday morning, visitors report little or no walk-up wait, and the €25 same-day ticket from the office under the east loggia is hard to argue with. If you can arrive after 4 p.m., the museum sells an afternoon ticket for €16 on the day or €20 in advance, which leaves two and a half hours before the 6.30 p.m. exit call, enough for the second-floor route. EU citizens aged 18 to 25 pay €2, and under-18s of any nationality are free with ID; for them a reseller ticket is paying for the host and the app, not for the admission.

On the day

Arrive 15 minutes before your slot at the meeting point, not at the museum door; the operator does not guarantee entry to late arrivals. Bring the ID whose name is on the booking. Backpacks, large bags and large umbrellas go to the free cloakroom just inside the entrance under the eastern colonnade; water up to half a liter is allowed; there is no dress code beyond nothing beachwear-like. Photography without flash is fine, selfie sticks and tripods are not, and phones stay on silent.

If a reserved ticket is the right format for your visit, check availability for your date, then read our guide to the best time to visit the Uffizi and, if you are still weighing a guide, which ticket or tour is right for you.

What Ticket Holders Say

4.4/5 from 2014 verified GetYourGuide bookings

Ratings and review counts are the tour operators' live figures on GetYourGuide and may shift slightly day to day.

"the arr collection is impressive, the audio guide easy to download and worked well without internet connection, and not having to wait in the line was amazing! Renata, the guide helped a lot with useful info about the gallery."

Francine Brazil

"Very easy experience. Met the representative who gave us our tickets and made sure that we had the app and audio guide downloaded. Short queue to get into the Uffizi but all together was a great thing to do when in Florence"

Hannah Louise United Kingdom

"The Uffizi museum is not to be missed. I thought the audio guide was pretty sparse in terms of information. I still appreciated the convenience of booking everything from home and having things set up in advance. Entry to the museum was glitch free."

Mark United States

"Well organised and surprisingly easy to wander around the fabulous exhibits. Bravo."

Jonathan United Kingdom

"I enjoyed my self-guided tour very much - the audio-guide was excellent and I appreciated the freedom to choose my own pace and points of interest"

Linda United Kingdom

"Got in to Uffizi without too much delay and audio guide was very helpful to go at our own pace and get information on the things/artworks we wanted to see."

Vicki United Kingdom

"Annoying that the specified meeting point was changed at the last minute with the clock literally ticking down for our entry time. This added a great deal of unnecessary stress trying to find our guide, without his supposed purple flag, in mass of thousands of tourists. Wireless headphones didn’t work with the audio guide but wired were fine. Audio guide was excellent and the Uffizi lives up to expectations if you enjoy History and Art. The gallery is well laid out and the exhibits can be photographed and examined very closely."

Philip Italy

"This was such an easy and quick way to get into the museum. And the museum itself is absolutely stunning and the collection, it goes without saying, is breathtaking. I took roughly and hour and a half to get through but I was moving fast."
